Rajamudi is a unpolished nutritious red rice with several health benefits. It comes in a mix of red and brown colour. It's more healthier than the polished white rice, therefore, a very good alternative for everyday consumption. It is tastier and easier to cook. In olden days, it was grown exclusively for the kings of Mysore.


It has good fibre when compared to polished rice. It is rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients also. It has low glycemic index and best suited for diabetic patients. It is easy to digest and suitable for all ages.


How to cook: Wash and soak rice in water for 10 minutes. Add 2 parts water to 1 part rice. Cook on high flame for 1 whistle, then lower the flame and cook for 2 more whistles. Once pressure released, Serve hot. The rice is not sticky and spreads well.
